Enhancing OurSocialValue.org for improved commissioning, delivery, and evaluation of VCFSE awards

Civil society organisations are increasingly expected to operate as delivery partners to the public sector, competing for complex contracts while shouldering growing statutory requirements to evidence Social Value and wider social impact. While these organisations are deeply embedded within communities and uniquely placed to deliver meaningful outcomes, many are constrained by limited capacity, fragmented data collection, and uneven access to specialist expertise. As a result, significant numbers of tender applications fail despite the applicant's quality.
OurSocialValue.org (OSV) was launched in October 2025 with 500 organisational users now registered. OSV provides a practical, accessible resource through which VCFSE organisations can measure, understand, and evidence the social value they deliver. However, following consultation, assessing feedback, and considering recently updated national data sources, adaptations are required to leverage the maximum impact from the platform.
IAA funding will support enhancements to OSV by integrating updated deprivation data, wider service catchment areas, and improved navigation for novice users. Responding directly to commissioners, clarity, consistency, and alignments with sector terminology will also be incorporated. Improved support features will guide users at different experience levels, ensuring that robust social value measurement is achievable for all. As civil society becomes legislated to deliver services, an improved OurSocialValue.org will create a more equitable commissioning cycle where commissioners and providers work from a common framework.
