Enhancing the Saving Castle Fields project through an innovative landscape conservation and management plan

Berkhamsted Castle is one of 25 sites in the fight for Magna Carta and is where Anglo-Saxon leaders surrendered to William, Duke of Normandy (i.e. William the Conqueror). This project, working in partnership with Berkhamsted Castle Trust (BCT) on the Saving Castle Fields project, will conceptualise and provide an initial evaluation of an innovative landscape management and conversation practice for the new land acquired under SCF. University of Hertfordshire representatives will engage different stakeholders through custom events and curated workshops to ensure this land remains under BCT ownership, and in doing so, is open, accessible, and interpreted for all.
