Estimating the Costs and Benefits of Actions to Improve Mental Health Outcomes Among Flood Victims

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The project builds on the National Study of Flooding and Health (Public Health England-PHE) to shift flood risk management towards a people-centred approach. It identifies actions to support mental health before, during, and after floods, and quantifies the economic cost of mental health impacts. A Bayesian Machine Learning-based health economic model will be developed using surveys, interviews, and existing data. UH is the contractual lead; Partners include UKHSA, University of Birmingham, Middlesex University, Flood Forum, Ocean Oculus, Orbital Applied Economics, and Emirates Aviation University.
