Evaluating the Wider Impact of Highgate Parade Community Planters on the Local Community

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This proposal is to understand how participation in improving public space via greening, is beneficial for community members. New planting and a design for public realm improvements on an estate will be used as a springboard. Using an existing network of stakeholders, two stages will be followed. First, we will find out how new planting has affected users. Second, we will hold workshops to help locals learn how to develop green spaces. Results of this impact project can be used for future collaborative work for greening improvements, and creating connection to and responsibility for place. It can also be a case-study for future projects.
