Project Details
Description
A mixed method design drawing on qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. This will provide data that is applicable across all the settings, account for the different contexts of care and the likely variable uptake of the intervention. To minimise burdening participants with extra work, a “light touch” approach is proposed that aims to maximise learning from routinely collected data or data completed as part of the TTT intervention
The evaluation will follow the four stages of the programme and continue data collection up to 4 months after its completion. Organisation and analysis of data will use the uncertainty framework to evaluate the impact of the model on different aspects of end of life care.
Evaluation will be based on the assumption that the 36 care home staff from the 18 care homes can commit to face to face interviews and completion of audio diaries and that the managers of the18 care homes will facilitate the evaluation and linked data collection.
