Evaluation of the East African Community Medical Products Joint Regulatory Review System: to improve the Regulatory Assessment Process and Patients’ Access to Medicines

The East African regulatory authorities have established a regional work sharing initiative referred to as the East African Community Medical Products Joint Regulatory Review System was established in 2012. However, no studies has been conducted to evaluate its success both from the regulatory agencies of the member countries and the pharmaceutical industry using the services. This study will be evaluating the last 9 years experience of the initiative in terms of both review process and metrics.
