Project Details
Description
This piece of work stems from our previous NORM wellbeing project which was designed to develop innovative tools to normalise mental health and well-being conversations amongst the Black and Minoritised communities.
The current project focuses on building evidence to aid understanding of how to effectively rebalance power in a community-led research collaboration especially when working with marginalised communities.
The project will use creative methods such as podcasts, video documentaries etc to share learning on community-led research approaches; showing how the equitable, relational approach can facilitate knowledge production and joint ownership.
Also, creating a framework for the community to think about future partnerships – identifying their goals, what ownership over their work looks like, and how they can continue to ensure that future work is truly of benefit to them and others and not just the academic or person initiating partnership – how to continue to rebalance power and ensure work is not extractive.
