Project Details

Description

Colt Telecom's Gentia Billing Systems MIS Project. The project aimed to improve the company's billing process by implementing a Management Information System that would allow the company to analyze billing data, generate reports, and capture transaction and invoice processing data. The project involved eight phases, including planning, requirements gathering, system design, development and testing, user acceptance testing, training, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance.

The project's primary objective was to create an efficient and accurate billing system that would provide timely billing, improve billing processes, and reduce billing errors, ultimately leading to enhanced billing processes and faster turnaround times in billing delivery

Key findings

The project had high levels of unpredictability and risk, as we were implementing a new system that would impact the entire billing process. The billing process was a critical function of the business, and any errors could lead to financial losses and damage to the company's reputation. I had to work with the technical team to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise any negative impacts.
