Investigating the level of ophthalmic nutrition knowledge in patients

This is a funding application for a student summer project investigating the level of awareness amongst the general population of the link between a good diet, and ocular health. A secondary objective is to ascertain how likely they would be to expect nutritional advice from an optometrist, and how accepting they would be of taking diet related advice from an optometrist. If this research shows patients would be open to this, then this may indicate the need for more optometry-led models of care. This information would therefore help inform relevant bodies so that action can be taken to increase awareness amongst the general population.
