Key findings

The study show that, there is a high degree of confidence in relation to canvas use and further identified several cultural factors influencing the self-efficacy of canvas at the University of Hertfordshire, including capacity building, digital assistant, engagement, notification and complexity. In addition, the study demonstrated that, communication, capacity building, digital assistant, convenience and chat options significantly influences the compatibility of canvas use at UH. The study further affirmed that, technology upgrade, accessibility, workload, capacity building and confidence significantly affects instructor effectiveness in using the platform. Lastly, the study further highlighted adaptation, technological support, availability of chat option and timeliness as essential for providing appropriate facilitating conditions for the use, acceptance and adoption of the canvas platform.
