LD + Frailty

There is a clear understanding that the assessment of frailty for people living with Learning Disability cannot be supported by any of the existing clinical assessment tools. This position has recently been supported by NICE (eg https://www.nice.org.uk/news/article/nice-updates-rapid-covid-19-guideline-on-critical-care). The team in Hertfordshire Local Authority have therefore started a project to evaluate and adapt a commonly used frailty tool (the Rockwood Clinical Frailty Scale) for use with this group of people.
