LGBT+ inclusive education: overcoming challenges/objections and developing effective practice

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Further dissemination/implementation of research-informed education resources from two funded projects: a British Academy/Leverhulme grant and an ESRC award. The resources are an urgent response to disparities in statutory Relationships Education concerning gender diversity/LGBT+ inclusivity with our research reinforcing that many schools are still struggling to fulfil their duty to offer LGBT+ inclusive education. Through workshops with local/regional schools and third sector organisations, strategies for overcoming challenges/objections and developing effective practice will be explored. This will inform the development and delivery of in-school training which will be evaluated with an end-of-project workshop informing policy recommendations and identifying further pathways to impact.
