Net Zero Innovation Programme - Carbon offset delivery/monitoring tool

Carbon offset delivery/monitoring toolkit. As a planning authority, Hertsmere Borough Council has committed to net-zero sustainable development. Their planning policies implement the energy hierarchy and offset unavoidable emissions via offsite emission reduction/removal projects. They need a toolkit to match carbon offset required from all new developments submitted to Council for planning approval to quantify carbon reduction/removal from projects. The toolkit should also monitor the lifetime benefits from the scheme, verifying/keeping net-zero on track, acting as a conduit to fund Hertsmere’s Climate Change Action Plan. University of Hertfordshire’s Zero Carbon Lab have the knowhow, expertise and facilities for co-creating the toolkit with Hertsmere.
