Optimising Silicon Photonics technology for Data Center Networks

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

In recent years, most, if not all, copper-based Ethernet runs have been replaced with optical fibres in Data Centre Networks (DCN). However, existing optical fibre technology cannot cope with future demands when high-speed, large data switching and routing applications will be required to handle terabits per second traffic. This research will help identifying optimal solutions related switching and networking protocols for disruptive Silicon Phonics technology working out optimal network solution for data centre networks.
