Description
As the project manager of Deutsche Bank's Strategic Level 1 Controls Programme, I led a significant initiative that aimed to enhance the bank's risk management and control processes, governance, and regulatory compliance. The programme consisted of four key themes that aligned with the bank's strategic priorities: strengthening governance and culture, enhancing risk management frameworks, improving operational effectiveness, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
During the programme, I faced several challenges that required me to balance competing interests. One of the significant challenges was balancing risk management with financial performance. Although the bank's profitability was a critical concern for shareholders, the programme aimed to strengthen the bank's risk management framework and control environment to reduce its exposure to potential risks. Balancing these competing interests required a delicate balance.
