Description
The SkillSense for Assessment Mastery (SSAM) Programme (established in 2019 by McDowell) is designed to enhance assessment literacy in education, equipping students with the skills needed to engage effectively with academic assessments. Through interactive workshops, self-reflection, and peer feedback, students develop self-efficacy and a deeper understanding of assessment criteria.
The programme fosters inclusivity and fairness, helping students navigate academic expectations with confidence. Using an evidence-based Academic Skills Feedback and Marking Rubric (ASR), SSAM aims to improve learning outcomes while promoting a supportive academic community. Its commercialization will extend the Programme’s benefits outside UH via consultancy and tailored training, translating academic insights into practical, impactful change.
