Teach & Treat Phase 1

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The Project specifically supports the legacy community pharmacist workforce in completing independent prescribing training in response to changes in pharmacy education standards. From September 2026, all newly qualified pharmacists will be independent prescribers upon registration. While prescribing pharmacists are already embedded into secondary care and general practice sectors, community pharmacy has lagged behind, highlighting the need for pharmacists in this sector to evolve into autonomous clinicians as need to fully realise the planned goals
