The Field

'The Field' was a physical location 1 mile north of Stansted Airport Essex and an experiment in multi- and inter-disciplinary work with artists as lead researchers. Located on a 13 acre site of ancient woodland and grassland, including an orchard, an apiary, allotments, a compost toilet running water and a brick structure, 'The Field' invited artists, scientists, philosophers, anthropologists and others to come together to explore ideas pertinent to its rural location and wider society. The Field involved experiments in traditional pre-Industrial woodland and grassland management, attempting ethical engagements with others, including non-human others.
