Project Details
Description
‘if a person crop it with his left-hand ... before he sees sun or moon, then he shall obtain whatsoever he wishes for’. So wrote Philip Miller in The Gardeners Dictionary (1733), a copy of which is now housed in the archives of the Chelsea Physic Garden. This project will draw together the archival materials of the Garden and the research of Drs Ceri Houlbrook and Jennifer Evans to create an engaging and enchanting exhibition about the folklore of the autumnal flora within the garden’s grounds.
