The Humannis Deck – Recovery and healing through creative and spiritual practice

The project aims to explore the efficacy and potential therapeutic use of ‘The Humannis Deck’ within public healthcare settings. The ‘Humannis Deck’ is a therapeutic art resource in the form of a 78-card deck with accompanying information booklet and posters to be used in a variety of wellbeing and community therapy settings. Created by the Co-I, the resource serves as a creative starting point from which outputs such as art, writing, poetry, drama or dance can be made to discuss emotions or experiences. Aimed at a 13+ age range and developed as a cross cultural and gender inclusive product. The deck is intended for therapeutic use by both individuals and groups in community and public healthcare creative therapy settings.
Funding is needed to aid in the creation, dissemination, workshop provision and experience led data collection of the ‘Humannis Deck’ with a focus on two groups:
1. Addiction recovery groups including families/carers.
2. NHS staff wellbeing
Ceri Houlbrook will act as advising supervisor and Sarah Bellisario will be lead Co-I.
