Project Details
Description
The main goal of this project is to tell this broad story to an audience that is often overlooked when it comes to science communication: children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
My project will utilise the University of Hertfordshire's portable inflatable planetarium, the largest of its kind in the UK (house-sized: approx 8-m in diameter, 6-m high). This will form a safe, accessible sensory space that will be filled with a range of sensory equipment, including lighting, sound and tactile experiences that will be used to allow the audience to interactively 'explore' the history of the Universe, from the origin of the cosmic microwave background to the present day. The project will be called 'The Sensory Universe'.
