Project Details
Description
This KTP will support Ambar Kelly in driving a major technological advancement in fire safety for high-rise buildings, both across the UK and potentially on an international scale. By harnessing cutting-edge research and innovation, the project will not only significantly enhance company growth but also contribute to a fundamental shift in building fire safety standards.
Fire safety in high-rise buildings is a critical issue, with the risks posed by fire in riser shafts often overlooked. One of the key concerns is the "shaft effect," where heat, fire, and smoke spread through risers, particularly when combustible materials like GRP flooring are used. This project aims to provide the evidence base needed to push for the withdrawal of GRP flooring from risers and to demonstrate how RiserSafe can eliminate these risks.
