Abstract

Curated by Ronit Eden for exhibition June 2014
“Angel Among the Ruins” brings together a group of international artists dealing with the very existence of the ruin as a social and political statement. In the exhibited art works you can see ruins whose existence is rooted in political decisions or in social or economical policies. In some works ruins are a symbol of the society or a metaphor for relationships between peoples and nations. The exhibition concentrates on the medium of video and on works that were created in the last 10-12 years, dealing with ruins which were made by people in different places all over the world.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication and by a program, including talks and further events. The exhibition is set to coincide with the annual National Days of Architecture in June 2014.
