Abstract

Antarctica: Being In Time

In 2014, I was invited (second time) to be artist-in–residence, as part of the international programme (Antarctica). Funded by The Chancellery of the Argentine Government, Direccion National del Antartico Culturales and based at their scientific research stations in Antarctica. Antarctica is part of a continuing body of work, built further on my first visit in 2010.

The works comprise: 30 x ‘Thinking White’ circular mixed media drawings on paper each 76cm x 56cm; ‘Raindance’ (Ecological Ritual) a video performance, citing Navaho/Pueblo Native American tribe rituals; 6 x upright and inverted photographic portraits 84.1cm x 59.4; 7 x Antarctica Action large mixed media drawings on paper each 100cm x 100 cm and a web published diary (2014)
