Abstract

This research focuses on Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) and the practice of IV-to-Oral Switch (IVOS) at an NHS Foundation Trust in England during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study, a retrospective analysis of 640 patient records from 2019-2020, examines the implementation of IVOS in adult patients, including those with respiratory infections. It found that 26.7% of patients underwent IVOS, highlighting its importance in AMS and combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) during the pandemic. This research emphasises the critical role of IVOS in enhancing AMS and addressing AMR challenges. https://www.accp.com/meetings/am23/posters.aspx?aid=63388
