Becoming a profession: where did we come from and how did we get here?

At this 40th anniversary conference for ADMP UK I presented as the opening keynote reflections on leading the professional development of dance movement psychotherapy (DMP) in the UK. How I led to association into being, the challenges and opportunities. the support for peer groups, first research and publications showcasing colleagues' research and practice. How ADMP UK was formulated in the UK as a professional body to hold practitioners. The development of the first UK nationally validated MA in DMP and ADMP's validation contribution.
