Abstract

In this essay I will attempt to show the relevance of the paradigms of design rule and anarchism in the development of the Costa Paradiso, and in particular in the almost incidental relationship between the work of Albero Ponis - and the Hartley house as paradigm, however non-trivial the operation of reduction to paradigm in Ponis's work is - and the episode of the Antonioni House signed by Dante Bini and known as the 'Antonioni Dome'. The use of this paradigm can contribute, on the one hand, to the disarticulation of the localist analytical category of the 'genius loci', often of sterile application, and on the other hand extend a research paradigm that is often underestimated but of fertile potential, namely that of the relationship with rules: their construction, the exercise of criticism, the search for the exception and the escape from them through the project. At the heart of the reflection is in fact the project as an intentional act of modification of places.
