Abstract

In the early 1960s, as British families were busy preparing for Christmas, especially searching for the best recipes for the Christmas Eve turkey, disaster struck − 100,000 turkey poults suddenly died due to poisoning from a fungal toxin. This left everyone scrambling to find a new main dish for dinner. But could such an event happen again, and how might climate change worsen the situation?
