Abstract
Clinging On brought together 21 artists to explore instability, precariousness, and the tension between gravity, form, and fragility. Wall-based sculptural works appeared to leap from, cling to, or dissolve into their supports, creating a dialogue between the familiar and the strange. Curated by Hermione Allsopp, Erika Trotzig, and Poppy Whatmore, the exhibition framed sculpture as both a material and conceptual investigation of uncertainty, reflection, and resistance.
David Kefford contributed a sculptural work, Mess Mesh, that extends his research into queer ecology, hybrid bodily forms, and the endurance of materials under conditions of instability and change.
