Abstract
Is coexistence between Muslim and Jewish neighbours impossible? The everyday diversity in Frankfurt's trainstation district suggests otherwise. Cultural sociologist Dr Arndt Emmerich examines how people live together in the neighbourhood, revealing mutual support, shared safety and economic solidarity that have developed organically over decades, but which are overlooked by current media headlines. Emmerich is a senior lecturer in sociology at the University of Hertfordshire and a Silvia-Tennenbaum Fellow of the Hertie Foundation.
