Abstract

Credit union development in Greece has gone through two stages: a good growth before the current financial crisis and a steady decline during the crisis. The main purpose of this paper will be the imprinting and analysis of the basic financial data of Greek cooperative banks during the 2004-2016 period. Our findings will indicate the trends amongst variables such as assets, loans, deposits, employees, credit union branches and members and will try to relate these findings to the current financial crisis.
