Abstract

The Chinese fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) industry is currently enjoying something of a boom, and has grown rapidly since its inception in the 1950s. The sector, which is predominantly based on glass fiber reinforced polyester resin products, produced some 250,000 tonnes of finished products last year ( 1997), and is on course to reach an output of 300,000 tonnes by the year 2000.
