Abstract

Fruiting Bodies was a sculptural exhibition by the London-based collective Changeable Beast, curated by Rob Moore and Sandy Layton, at the Old Parcels Office Artspace, Scarborough. The exhibition explored the intersection of nature, transformation, and organic forms, taking inspiration from the biological concept of fruiting bodies—reproductive structures of fungi that emerge temporarily to disperse spores and generate new life. Metaphorically, the exhibition considered fruiting bodies as symbols of transformation, growth, and fragility.

David Kefford participated as a guest artist, contributing a sculptural work [Un]Bound Entity 2024 that connected to his doctoral research into queer ecology, hybrid bodily forms, and processes of endurance and weathering in outdoor and ecological contexts.
