Abstract

The aim of this publication is to provide nurses with the information and guidance necessary to ensure that women with learning disabilities have equal access to the NHS Breast Screening Programme and NHS Cervical Screening Programme. It explains the principles of screening, the limitations, and the possible consequences for women who are screened. It helps nurses prepare women with learning disabilities for the possible outcomes and an understanding of changes within their bodies.
