Important practices in the neonatal intensive care unit

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The sickest and most premature neonates often require admission to a high level of ‘dependency’, including the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). This chapter covers important principles of care that are relevant to more intensive dependency levels within the neonatal unit setting, namely, resuscitation, ventilation practice, taking blood, cardiovascular care and drug administration (Figures 11.1 to 11.16; Tables 11.1 to 11.12).
