Abstract

Following the criteria for lidars, adopted by EARLINET, an experimental assessment was carried out of the accuracy of operation of the two lidars in Sofia. The experiments on simultaneous operation of the lidars were performed once a month in the period June - September 2002. The mean difference in the aerosol backscatter in all profiles obtained simultaneously was 1.38 × 10^-7 [m.sr]^-1. The standard deviation of the differences was also calculated.
