Abstract

Partially purified RNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity isolated from Nicotiana benthamiana plants infected with Tobacco necrosis virus strain D (TNV-D) is capable of template-dependent synthesis of Satellite tobacco necrosis virus strain C (STNV-C) RNA. This in vitro system will be of great value in investigations on both TNV-D and STNV-C RNA replication.
