Abstract

As a market leader HBO has developed a reputation for high quality programming like The Sopranos and Sex and the City, and more recently, Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and Luck. The aim of our paper is to discuss the premium pay-for-view US TV cable company, HBO and to think about how it has contributed to the notion of Quality TV in the contemporary television landscape post 1996.
