Abstract

Although the last 30 years have witnessed a 35-50% decline in mortality from coronary heart disease (CHD) in men in the western world, there has been no equivalent reduction in CHD mortality in women. This may be due to the fact that women simply require a different approach to management of cardiovascular disease.
