Abstract
This public summary presents the key messages from the policy brief Translating AMR Research into Parliamentary Action in an accessible format for patients, the public and non-specialist audiences. It explains why antimicrobial resistance (AMR) matters, outlines five priorities for strengthening the UK response, and provides practical actions individuals can take to help preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics. Produced following the Parliamentary Roundtable on Antimicrobial Resistance held at the House of Commons on 18 May 2026, the summary supports public engagement and knowledge exchange as part of the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account at the University of Hertfordshire.
