Abstract
Special Relationships brought together paintings, sculptures, and installations by artists from London and Los Angeles, exploring shared creative concerns and outcomes across two vibrant cultural landscapes. Featuring artists at different stages of their careers, the exhibition highlighted a dynamic exchange of ideas, revealing both commonalities and distinct perspectives that shape their practices. Through this transatlantic dialogue, the show celebrated the diversity and interconnectedness of both cities’ art scenes.
David Kefford contributed a single-screen film work based on a 3D-scanned sculpture, extending his research into environmental art-making and sustainable digital practices. The work explored how hybrid sculptural forms can be re-materialised through digital processes, connecting questions of ecology, weathering, and more-than-human collaboration to emerging technologies.
