Abstract

Strict criteria determine the siting of a high-level radioactive waste (HLW) geological repository, but after 20 years of survey and investigation, China has selected a potential candidate area. Bolstered by a US$16bn (£10bn) investment commitment, opportunities exist for commercial and technological cooperation.
