The effect of learning another language at preschool on first language acquisition

Abstract

The study investigates L1 development in a group of German children learning English and a group of German/English bilingual children. Both groups attend bilingual nursery schools. All children completed a language development test for children aged 3–5. The results are compared to the children’s level of English comprehension.
