    Abstract

This chapter documents some of the uppermost themes to emerge from an analysis of the data from a larger qualitative and collaborative research study (Payne 1996a) which asked how dance movement therapy (DMT) trainees experienced the DMT personal development group on their training and whether this linked to practice. The rationale for this was not to offer a method of providing a DMT group in higher education but to elucidate meanings derived from the students’ experience, which may assist in providing some links to practice.
