Abstract
The problems of Dockland are outlined and the nature of political conflict engendered is considered. The position changed in 1981 when the London Docklands Development Corporation (LDDC) was established. The character and objectives of LDDC are discussed, and again the political objections are noted. The conflict between private development and local people is illustrated by the dispute over STOLPORT.-D.G.PriceEnglish
