Abstract
This peer-reviewed presentation explored the role of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) practice. It examined the structure and purpose of antimicrobial stewardship committees through Terms of Reference (TOR), outlining the responsibilities of infectious diseases (ID) pharmacists, physicians, infection prevention specialists, and nursing staff. The presentation emphasised the importance of collaboration, regular review meetings, and integration with microbiology services. Lessons learned from committee implementation and future strategies for optimising antibiotic use were also discussed, highlighting the role of MDTs in reducing antimicrobial resistance and improving patient safety.
