Abstract

Marking the 50th Anniversary of the first Winter Paralympics in 1976, Dr. Christopher Brown, of the University of Hertfordshire, explores the history and development of the Winter Paralympic Games.

The film features Paralympians Mike Brace CBE DL, Sean Rose and Kelly Gallagher MBE alongside historian Dr. Ian Brittain, the Director of Communications and Social Impact at ParalympicsGB, Anna Scott-Marshall, and 1976 volunteer Lasse Söderlind.

This film is the result of a partnership project between the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and the University of Hertfordshire. It was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), through an award from the University of Hertfordshire’s ESRC Impact Acceleration Account.
