Abstract
This article engages with the essays contained within the volume on I consumi in the Einaudi Storia d’Italia series a cura di Emanuela Scarpellini e Stefano Cavazza, to consider how far distinctive features of national experience can be identified within Italy's experience of a phenomenon that is inherently transnational in character.
