Abstract
The lack of knowledge of the V-45(p,gamma) reaction rate has been shown to contribute a large uncertainty to the production of Ti-44 in core-collapse supernovae. By considering likely contributions from resonances associated with Cr-46 states that are the isobaric analog of states in Ti-46, we have determined that the currently accepted value of the V-45(p,gamma) reaction rate is unlikely to be inaccurate by more than an order of magnitude. These conclusions are confirmed by the shell model calculations with the FPD6 effective interaction.
