Abstract

This essay explores the lesser-known history of Jewish-Muslim coexistence after the Second World War, examining the following topics and examples: (1) joint socialisation and language; (2) politics and protection; (3) religion and culture; (4) Holocaust remembrance; and (5) the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023 and the ensuing Israel-Gaza war.
